Ownership
In Grunna, ownership is not about hierarchy. It is about clarity.
Every item in the ordered list has exactly one owner. Not a group. Not “the team”. One person responsible until it reaches done.

Why ownership matters
Finishing work requires focus. Focus requires clarity. Ownership removes ambiguity about who moves something forward.
- It prevents silent waiting.
- It prevents duplicate work.
- It reduces coordination overhead.
- It makes progress visible.
Ownership is not about control. It is about reducing friction in the system.
Ownership in ordered flow
Grunna runs on an ordered list. “Now” is protected. “Next” is visible. Trade-offs are explicit.
Ownership connects a person to an item in that order. If something is in “Now”, it has one clear owner responsible for moving it to done.
If priorities change, the list changes. But ownership remains clear.
- One item → one owner → until done.
- Collaboration is encouraged, but responsibility is singular.
- If something stalls, it is visible immediately.
Ownership is not isolation
Ownership does not mean working alone. It means someone ensures progress.
Others can contribute. Others can pair. Others can review. But there is always one person accountable for moving the item forward.
The cost of unclear ownership
- Work lingers in “Now”.
- Status updates replace progress.
- Meetings increase.
- Completion slows down.
Clear ownership is one of the simplest ways to increase finishing rate without adding process.
Clarity creates flow. Flow creates finished work.
